If you are buying a new home with a septic tank find out where it's located in your yard. - The health department recommends pumping your septic tank every
3-5 years for a household of four. - Maintenance is important to both the tank and the lateral fields.
Solids can obstruct lines and erode baffles causing system failure.
DO NOT wait until your tank is experiencing one of these symptoms:
- A foul odor coming from septic tank area
- Gurgling sounds from the drains
- Standing water or soggy ground near lateral field
